Are you a Martha or are you a Mary (or a little of both?)
In 10:38-42
At the Home of Martha and Mary
38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.[f] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her
Why do you think Martha was upset at her sister Mary?
Do you ever get so busy that you miss time just being with Jesus?
Take time to stop, be quiet, and rest at the feet of Jesus. Ask God to still your soul and speak to you. Don’t be busy or bothered. Just be still.

I get distracted really easily. Everything from internet related stuff, going out, and similar to Martha, sometimes I lose sight of the greater purpose of things that I prepare for at times (including some of ministries). I have to say I'm more like Martha. The times I just worship God with all I am and with all of have, it's great and I feel like Martha.
So I was also reading up on some websites whether or not Martha's preparation was a bad thing. It was her gift, but I do agree that the focus is on listening to what the Lord says, instead of being distracted (a few sites mentioned TV and computer being the biggest distractions).
Yes sometimes I get so busy that I miss time being with Jesus. Sometimes I know I rush through my prayers and Bible Study but even this website helps keeps me accountable. To reflect and pray for you.
Is interesting how sometimes doing God's work I often very fall away from God.
...
I was looking at the passage before hand (The Parable of the Good Samaritan). It seems from that parable to to this story, Jesus is contrasting two aspects of those who are His Disciples.
In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, the Levite and the priest supposedly to be the hands and feet for God were put down by Jesus compare to a Samaritan, to show who our neighbors are.
In Martha and Mary, Martha was doing the work in preparing for a meal for Jesus and the Lord commanded Mary for choosing one thing that is needed.
